Does anyone have any information on which modems will work for their network? I have seen number of great deals on modems.

On the Cox website, you either pay 149.99 for the modem and get the service for 34.95 a month, or rent the modem for 15.00 + 34.95 a month for ther service.
Their link showing which models are compatible just happens not to work. I think they really would rather have you buy or rent theirs for 15.00 a month.

I just cant see paying 150.00 for a modem to avoid the rental fee.

Any feedback would be helpful.
Thanks

If you get a modem that is Docsis certified it should work. Just ask Cox if they are Docsis complient.

i think i can help you out, i live in orange county too. i have a toshiba pcx1100u, got it for about 140 shipped 6 months ago. search around the internet and you should find one for fairly cheap. this modem was on their recommended list as well, and it works good for me. hope this helps.

BTW, they would rather you buy.... Then if something happens to the modem it is your responsibility to get it fixed and not theirs.....:D

And the Toshiba 1100U works great.... But tuse the USb port only as a LAST resort.....;)
