View Full Version : Anyone use Firewire in Windows NT?

I'm trying to get our NT server hooked up with a firewire card, however it's not working. I don't see any Add/Remove Hardware icon in the control panel so I assume it's plug in play, however it's not working. Can anyone tell me if firewire is not supported in Windows NT?

direct from microshaft :D
Windows NT/2000/XP: Requires Windows NT 4.0 SP4 or later
If you look on the box, they all list 98/ME/2K/XP under the system reqirements. I think that none of the firewire manufacturers are going to support NT.

AFAIK, NT don't do firewire. It definitely doesn't do USB. You can always check the Windows Hardware Compatibility List (http://www.microsoft.com/hcl/default.asp).

Damn ok thanks everyone. Back to the drawing board for me. Thanks!
One thing - NT can use some usb stuff. I've used a usb zip drive with windows NT, much to the amazement of IT guy, who said it couldn't be done. It also didn't work on an identical machine.
