Y'all are going to have to forgive all the stupid questions I have, but I'm so new to the online thing. I got this e-stamps thing downloaded on my desktop when I got on aol. I keep seeing stuff about e-postage in this forum and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what this is. Is it a deal? Apologies in advance for being such an idiot. Thanks.

The real deal was from www.buy.com (http://www.buy.com) They had a special going where if you bought the estamps software and a select HP printer you could get the full price of the printer back via rebate. Another deal with this offer is $50 worth of free postage when you sign up w/ estamp.

Now you're going to think I'm even more stupid: I don't know what e-stamps are. That's what I meant. What are they and what do they do? Why do you need e-postage? Is it cheap postage for snail mail or something? Apologies again. Jennifer

Basically, it allows you to print your own postage using your printer and the software. It's probably most useful if you ship a lot from your home. But with the deal at Buy.com, you're getting a free printer worth $175 when you buy $50 of stamps. I don't think a normal consumer would have much use for the estamp software, but it's hard to pass up on the printer deal.

Thanks. I'll catch on one of these days. I truly appreciate the input. Jennifer

I just installed the e-stamp software and it's pretty cool. I printed the first "test stamp" without any problems. One question though...is there any way to just print a stamp without entering an address? Seems like you can't do that, and it will definitely be a pain to have to copy an address off on an envelope that I just need a stamp for.
