First Vote: Madden 2002. I'm a sports nut. 6+ Franchise seasons already. But I like all the other games...

I would have voted for SSX: Tricky, but it wasn't there. :nono: For my money its the best game going, and will take you weeks to unlock everything, plus its one of the few truly good party games on the PS2.
As is, I had to go with Gran Turismo. People may be in love with GTA3 now but I remember jaws dropping when GT3 came out.

that game has to be the best I have seen...
it is so fun!!!...
My jaw didn't drop at GT3, I thought...same ol' ****. GTA3 however was incredible. Just the whole gameplay is awesome. The graphics aren't even very good in it. It's just the game itself is awesome. FFX is pretty good too, but as far as game of the year, i'd have to got with GTA3. FFX is just too linear. It seems like Squaresoft really tried to market the game towards a more general audience than just RPG fans. They took away several very RPG-only features and added a bunch of sidequests to make up for it. It came out to be a cool game either way though.

Altogether, I'm not terribly impressed with 2001. I find myself playing Mechwarrior4, RedAlert2, and Tribes2 online more than my 2001 favorites: Empire Earth and MOHAA.
Now...where did I put that copy of Serious Sam...

I still kinda think minesweeper is better than solitaire. Yeah, way better.
