I read the description page a few times and it says: "Built in 2D/3D Video" and it also says: "*Just install the CPU, your drives, and memory to build your own system"
It seems to imply on-board video but this motherboard doesn't have it.
This is very confusing. I emailed Outpost for clarification.
Still a great deal - I ordered 2
Thanks for the post

I ordered this as well, good deal. Did yours say "call for availability" on the product info page when you ordered it? Mine did, hope it comes anyway!

If you go to Fry's B&M this same deal can be had for $109. I just picked it up on Friday

Oops sorry wrong model.

Outpost shipped the case and MOBO today but I called them and the processor is on backorder.. Dammit!
I was hoping to get this thing running this weekend!

Mine came in without the CPU's also. I'm pretty happy with the quality of what I received though.
Power supply looks really, really tiny for 300 watts doesn't it ?
What are the settings for the XP1700+ ?
Is it 133Mhz X 11 ? (1.46Ghz)

Does anyone have a recommendation on the HSF...
I saw a few reviews that say there isn't much room for one...
Thanks in Advance...

Doesn't this come with a fan and heat sink?
02-12-2002, 11:02 PM
Yeah the BOXED CPU's come with a standard AMD CPU FAN, it should fit fine, the reviews I read that complained about space were "overclocker" type orb/HUGE fans.
Still waiting on my case/Mobo.
The guy at outpost.com cust service that I spoke with told me I was 104th oth the backlog. UGH!

I checked with the AMD site... And the approved Antec fan was at the site... Only another $30...
Just in case you want to go crazy...:bandit:

Yeah I am wondering what to set the Jumpers for the Mobo as well.
The soyo webpage is useless as the manuals for the motherboard dont seem to have been updated with info for the XP cpu's. Still wating on the processor.
If they dont get the processor soon, I may order it elsewhere or try to get outpost to throw me a bone for a faster CPU at the same discount.

I called them today and they said my cpu's should be in late this week or early next.
You only have to flip one switch on the motherboard for the buss speed (100 --> 133)
Everything else should be auto-detect. (I hope)

Took a closer look at the Power Supply today, and you are right it does look small. I have an Antec300 watter in my PC now, and I may move that over. I like the case though, its light, roomy and only has few sharp edges! No more cuts when working with the PC.

I called outpost again today, and they said it would be 9 more days before they had the processors in.. Jeez!
02-19-2002, 07:50 AM
I am using a slightly newer SOYO mobo (SOYO K7V DRAGON VIA KT266) which I have been very happy with. Sorry for my earlier post which referred to the K7V

I dont think the board has RAID...
02-19-2002, 09:09 PM
Went online and ordered one after reading review on MoBo from Soyo site link, sounds like very good deal. Was worry about Chipset but gave it a good review. Called Outpost today they are on back order and now sure when order will be filled....Crap...Dam I hate that !!!
Here the link for the review and overclock they did on the MOBO for those that were able to get on in the deal.
Day Late.......Dollar Short .....Again.

You will probably get the case and Mobo in a few days, it seems only the processor is on backorder. They only charge you for what they ship so it was like $81 for the case and Mobo. Everywhere else I've looked they have had the 1700 in stock.. Dont know why outpost is having a problem getting them...
02-20-2002, 04:42 AM
You think so? That would be OK. Then I would cancel rest of the order
and buy XP 1700 from Newegg for $117.00.......MMM.......I'll keep you posted......THANKS

For people wondering about heatsink and fan..
The thermotake Volcano 7 fits this board just fine. =)
What a great heatsink and fan!

The combo deal is dead now.
Item # 3238051 is $99 now - Motherboard/Case (doesn't include cpu/fan)
They also want $169 for the cpu - Item# 3120400
02-20-2002, 11:31 PM
The combo deal is still there, they just dont have the CPU's to ship.
I got the case and mobo and cancelled the rest of the order and got the processor elsewhere.(Should be here Friday! woohoo!)
Has anybody done the same and put it together? I am wondering if the included Power Supply is good enough to support 512MB RAM, NIC, Sound Card, Geforce 3 ultra, DVD drive, a CD/RW, 2 case fans, 40 GB 7200 RPM HD??? According to the webpage the PS is 300 watts, so it should be enough as I have a 300 watter on my intel based PC now, unless the Athlons suck up more juice than a PIII 1ghz slot 1.

Got my CPU today and moved all my hardware from my old system to the new system! All is well and it even seems that the built in power supply is sufficient to support my hardware!!
