loaded a rtcw multiplayer game (1st time playing a game after my format) the screen locks up and a high pitch screech comes form the speakers then the puter freezes. so i restart, it gets to the windows load screen then the bsod comes up saying

the registry cannot load the hive
begining physical dump
complete
and some other things, then it reboots so fast i could barely read it.
any ideas? I have no idea how to use the repair section on the xp cd, any ideas how to fix it or repair? Im not in the mood to reformat

I don't know how BSOD crytic crap can help ya.

but to disable it from rebooting.
Control Panel
click SYSTEM icon
clic Advance tab
clic Startup and Recovery tab.
disble auto reboot




to repair automatically, go thru the installtion of XP as if you were to install XP fresh, there will be an option to repair XP automatically. If not, your gonna get the CONSOLE crap which take forever to figure out, I think the console is suppose to be faster if you know what you are doing.

cant even get windows xp to boot fully, not normally or safe mode or anything heh

hmmm so u set the CD ROM to boot from the cd and u get the consle right away?
