I just posted one in the Movies Thread I made.... what other ones have you heard of?

Bloody Mary in the mirror 3 times in the dark. Supposed to never make it to #3. Course that's a silly one.

i been thinkin about doing a thread like this as well. good show, bs.

my contribution:

peeps say all the clocks in pulp fiction are set to 4:20. here's my list of other times as viewed on the dvd-

at 1:07:00 into the movie, the watch that capt. koons (he needs to post more if he's just a capt.) was delivering to butch was set to 6:15.

at 1:30:29 into the movie, the same watch is on the kangaroo on the nightstand and reads 10:15.

at 1:58:23 into the movie, the clock above jimmy's right shoulder at in his kitchen reads 8:16.

at 2:02:02 into the movie, winston wolf's watch reads 8:40.

there's one more clock (@jack rabbit slim's) that i couldn't quite make out.

if you didn't hold your breath going past a cemetary, the dead would suck the air out of your lungs and come back to life.

if you didn't eat an orange on christmas eve before midnight, you'd die of scurvy (thats an old italian one!)

if you catch a fish with only one eye, you'll come into alot of money.

In the Matrix, everything in the matrix has a green tint to it, and everything in the real world has a blue tint to it.

I have to re-watch the Matrix now just for that reason. =)

Jamie Lee Curtis is a hermaphrodite when she was younger, and had the male parts taken out later. That's why she looks mannish in some angles.

I think the Jamie Lee Curtis one is actually true.

As for KFC, I heard the same thing. It's not as much that they don't really use chicken as it is that they used genetically altered chicken. I don't know how true that is, though.

What I once heard is that KFC chicken was comprised of "retired" egg-layers.

In one scene of wizard of oz, you can see where some midget extras hung themselves.

Combining Coca-Cola and aspirin will get you high.

Nike refused to make a custom shoe for someone with the name "sweatshop" on it.

If you don't finish all your rice, the number of rice left on your plate will be the number of marks on your future spouse's face. (could be made up by my mother)

That one is creepy. What's the story behind that one?

This one is actually true. I saw the shadow of the guy hanging when I watched the movie, though I'm not sure if it was a midget. :hmm:

Well now you are going to have to tell us when exactly in the movie it is, so we can verify it for ourselves. Also where to look. Thank Ladog you da man.

time to bust out the pink floyd ;) (that story has to be true, cuz you hear reviewers talk about it. for those who don't know, pink floyd's dark side of the moon is supposed to coincide with the movie when queued up properly)

Yep I can verify this. I tried it a couple of years ago with a bunch of friends. Needless to say it was pretty trippy, no pun intended

No that's not true... I know the truth on that one and I'm not making it up. Well this is the case of a genetic mutation that rarely occurs in our species. What happened is this. When a zygote goes through development, it determines whether it is male or female by the genetics but more so by what our genes produce. To put it simply... guys who are xy chromosomes produce testosterone. This is detected by our bodies at the cellular level and thus programs us to develop that way. Jamie Lee Curtis is XY chromosome and should have been a guy. But she genetically lacks the correct sequence to make testosterone receptors (which detects that hormone). So the body, didn't detect the testosterone being produced and said "heck... I must be a gal". This is why she can't have kids and has adopted.

For all purposes she's a guy. But she didn't develop that way just by a freak of nature. Best looking guy I've ever seen. :P

Therefore, she is NOT a hermaphrodite which is defined as having both male and female genitalia. She's a gal in every aspect except genetically. Hope this clarifies.

That is very impressive BS, my friend.

No, it isn't (http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a5_016.html), it's a bird.
Here's (http://www.snopes.com/movies/actors/jamie.htm) a blurb on Snopes about Jamie Lee Curtis. They only mention that it's "undetermined" if she truly is a hermaphrodite. I seriously doubt it.
