I was lookin at the deals section and it said something about ubid. I went to the site and browsed around and the prices seemed extremely good. The only problem was I couldn't find any kind of a FAQ. The stuff is used right? Has anyone bought anything from them? any info would be helpful.
Thanks

New, used and refurbished. You bid on the items and its not like ebay. The auction keeps getting extended past when it is supposed to be over to get the max bid. Watch out for shipping too. Its soooo high. I have found that in alot of cases it isnt the best deal ... but you can also get some really good deals too. Just be careful.

they wont tell you the shipping cost when you bid, but they should tell you the weight. Usually, it's about a dollar a pound. Sometimes the wieght is really off, just to lower the price-beware the 30lb harddrive.
I order from Ubid a lot and I've only had one bad experience. It was with one of their "preferred providers" - Micro Xpress. I will NEVER again bid on an item that comes from Micro Xpress, but I will continue to use Ubid.

If I go into an auction, it shows how to calculate shipping and handling charges (for that particular auction) right next to the option to bid. You can find the weight of the item at the bottom of the page. Looks pretty straightforward to me.

...but many times the bid price is a great price, until you figure in shipping...I've been burned because I wasn't paying attenion to the weight and shipping cost. My fault, don't be like me.:o
