2 Quarter Pounders for $2. or 1 QPC and 1 medium fry for $2. Or 2 QPC + fry + drink for $4.49. On a students budget, 1/2 pound of food for 2$ is really good. :)

Remember the 29c hamburgers on Tuesday? Wow...That was about 6 hamburgers for $2. Another good deal for students. Are there still places that have this deal?

McDonalds food probably isnt the best fuel for a student. Might i suggest *real food available at your local A&P or whatever your local grocer is in your area. Its much healthier and would benefit you to a great degree in the long run than most fast food. After all, can you put a price tag on good health? And its a much better deal consdiering health care costs that can be directly associated with poor lifestyle choices such as mcdonalds.
sorry bout the spelling
oh yeah and just my $.02

To make a cheese burger at the grocery store it would cost a lot more than $.39. I don't think you are going to have much luck telling male college students to eat healthier.

I think his point was the more expensive food from a grocery store has benefits that outweigh the extra costs.

My point is eating healthy food is a luxary that most students can't afford to have. An 18-24 year old male needs over 3000 calories a day and you cant get it eating garden salads 3 meals a day. i'd say its more satisfying being full rather than being healthy but constantly hungry.

dude yogurt and fruit is fairly cheap. ALso you will be able to function better during college classes, which incidently is the point of college. You are in effect wasting an education if you don't supply yourself with the proper nutrition to facilitate learning.
lol

Fruit from farmers markets is cheap (if you have em). Tortillas, cheese, PB&J, bread, pasta and sauce, off brand cereal, fake spaghetti O's(Ghetto O's), ramen, rice, and ground beef(on sale in the max-pak *freeze it*) ... its not really that hard to eat cheap and fairly healthy ... trust me I know, I am doing it right now. But all that food for 2 bucks is a good deal if it doesnt make you throw up.

While I was in college I survived on the one food that included all the major food groups, PIZZA with everything!

Still, if one doesn't have the means to buy healthier foods, then he can't. McDonalds saves the day.

Wait...McDonalds isn't healthy food? A cheeseburger has protein, carbs, dairy products, vegetables, and fruit (get the strawberry soda). That's pretty much the whole food pyramid for 39cents.

One thing is common in life, everyone dies.
Eat what you like and live less years, or eat "veggies all the time" and live a little longer.
I eat what tastes good!!!

McDonalds is better than some of the crap college kids eat.
Eating McDonalds once in a while ain't going to hurt ya.
Don't worry folks, the fat police are increasingly telling you what the hell to eat. http://www.gotapex.com/forums/images/icons/icon13.gif

Fat police, lol.
I guess not everyone has a high metabolism, I've been thin all my life (21 years) - too thin even, but I eat anything and everything. I'm 5'9 and weigh 140 lbs...it's fat for me (I'm a guy too), I used to be 5'7 120 in highschool.
I will eat anything that tastes good...hehe,

Under all circumstances - Avoid McFood!
If your poor, try rice, pasta, and bread. Cheaper, better for you, and will fill you up.

It's ok to eat junk food like McDonalds occasionally. So long as it is less than once a week it should have no ill effects, so long as you eat healthy the rest of the time.
It's better to eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, with some meat and some grain.
Go easy on the grains though, it's not as healthy as they want you to think it is.

I have a small addition to your statement. Eat crap and live a little less and suffer chest pain, heart attack, diabete, cancer, etc etc and die painfully. Or eat healthy, live a little more, and die without all of the above.

if you make a cheeseburger to a similar quality as mckyd's it's pretty cheap...
bread is really cheap...
cheese - the generic brand...cheap
the meat - it's like what, 2 oz? - cheap cheap..
i'd say 15-20 cents....
and go to sam's club/bj's type of store....even cheaper!

And the followings come free with each purchase:
napkin - low quality paper might damage sensitive skin
catchup - get up to three packet at cheap store
ice water - who needs to pay for beverage when you got ice water?

hahah the courtesy cups suck, just eat at home and your life will be much better. If you are going to eat outside, you might as well go to a *real restaurant where you can get healthy food that tastes good. and by healthy i mean organic, not necessarily fatty. I just like knowing that something died for me to get the food. I hate the idea of processed foods as it is usally scraped off the floor and is an overall bad idea for any serious athlete.

Once you get to college 99% of people aren't serious athletes anymore. Granted the serious athletes here eat good but then they go and do juice which is worse in the long run.

BK's 49 cent cheeseburgers are far superior to McD's
