If you want 80 minute CDs, here you go (as long as you're willing to give PNY a shot...).
Staples B&M has a 50 pack of 80 minute CD-Rs for:
34.99 - 2.00 (instant savings) - 15.00 (mfr mail-in rebate) = 17.94
"limited quantities" (god, i hate this quote...)

I have used these discs for writing Karaoke CDs and they work. If anybody has tried copying Karaoke discs, you would soon find that high quality media is required. I was pleasantly surprised when I found that they worked.

do 80 min cd-rs require a new cd-rw drive or does it work on all drives?

Mohap:

its not so much how new your cd writer is as the program you use. ive got an older cd writer, and i can burn 80min cds just fine.

i use nero burn, its a great program. besides allowing full burns, you can also overburn a cd (though i havent tried that yet, and doubt i will), and when you make a music cd, you dont have to convert the mp3s into wavs.

I have had problems getting the full 700MB onto a disk, the closest I can get is about 690. Who knows, this may just be my burner though. Besides that, I have had no problems with them.

2002:

all cd-rs need to be formatted or something similar when they are burned. also remember that there is the "table of contents" even on non-audio cd burns. with nero, the max i got once was like 693mb. thats the best you can usually hope for without overburning.

with cd-rws, you really get f*cked over with the formatting. with adaptec sometimes, its formatting takes up at least 200mb of the space. takes like 30min at least to do this also. its craziness!!
