1) I choose florist because they hand deliver the flower. I hate the idea of leaving an Fedex boxed mess on the door way;
2) There are coupons floating on the web that give your $5 off, or, 10% off; but there are better deals;
3) Go through all the checkout procedure, only click 'Back' button on your IE at the very last step, there will be a pop up window asking if you changed your mind, they will give you $10 off. Click that window, and you get $10 off;
4) Search for 'flower' in Google, then on the right hand side, there will be a bunch of purchased links of many online flower stores. Click the link of Florist.com from there, you get a discount for $11.

The discount can not be combined, so the best deal would be going through Google. The price is in the middle range, and there are some good reviews/bad ones too.

My life experience has shown that hand-delivered flowers are more personal and convenient, yet FedExed flowers will consistently get there.

The failure rate of flower networks and local florists is pretty incredible.

800flowers hand-delivery service has proved to be late about 80% of the time in my vast experience, so I dropped them.

I've yet to have a problem with my local florist (which is ftd backed) or 800flowers.com ... The one problem I did have, though, was with a company that sent via fedex.

I guess its one of those circumstances when the quality of the local florists is what matters, not the name standing behind them.

After Sept. 11th, everything sent to my work has to be screened and X-rayed off site. My boyfriend sent me a Pooh Gram from the Disney Store and the box was stamped by the off site on Feb. 4th. I didn't get it at my desk until Feb. 6th! :( He said he also sent me flowers for V-day and it should come FedEx. What if I don't get it for another two days after it's gone through screening?!

I guess this is what things have come to with "high security"...

Whenever possible, I use a local florist ("local" to the delivery area, this is). I rarely have a problem.

I have had several problems with 1800FLOWERS, mostly with the fact that their arrangements are just plain lousy-- bad quality flowers, mostly.

ftd.com has been the most reliable of the online flower sources, IMHO.
