OK, maybe it is because I am not a parent and don't know these things but this just seems incredibly funny to me. What is the mother suppose to do? Squirt her breast milk in this thing and leave it for the babysitter to give to the baby?

Yes, that's exactly what they're for.

A mom expresses her milk either manually or with a pump and stores the milk in the freezer. Then the baby can get breastmilk via a bottle when necessary. Works well for working moms.

Breast is best, I'm sure all the guys will agree with that one.

Okay, I'm a woman (no kids yet. Hell, no husband yet) and I didn't know breast milk could be expressed manually. If these things "keep" maybe I'll order one and use it when I start having babies. Then again, maybe not. How do you explain these things to guests? Jennifer

Actually they are really neat! They didn't have these 3 years ago when I had my son. Which would have been really handy.

And as Maggie pointed out... you would express with a pump (which I tried and thought it was way to painful!!!) or by hand into a bottle shaped container to pour into the baggies in the proper amount.

This reminds me of a funny story. A buddy of mine had a get together for the boys one time. He was married and had a recently born baby, but his wife was cool enough to let him have a party. They supplied a fridge full of beers for us and we were all pretty happy campers. During the night one of my buddies went to the fridge and noticed one of these "Mommy helpers". He proceeded to come back into the room and start busting the guys balls for having it in the fridge.
Thats when his wife came in the room, apparently listening to the conversation, and let us all know that, "They're in the fridge because I don't feel like popping out MY TIT at 4 oclock every morning!!"
Needless to say, her point was taken without much misunderstanding.

Sorry for the language, but that's one way that you can explain those things to guests :')

I think she's trying to ask how she'd explain it to guests about the breast milk if she doesn't have a baby nor a husband. I think that "I don't feel like popping out MY TIT at 4 oclock every morning!!" wouldn't work very well. But it would be interesting certainly.
