Yeah nice landlords alone really make houses worth living in. I just moved out of the apartment that I lived in for the last 2 years of college. My landlord, Milton, actually lived in a different house, so he never came and bugged me. When he did drop by, he always called me a couple days in advance and let me know. When I couldn't pay rent on time, he would be cool about it. He owns the house personally, so no late fees or anything. I just need to tell him and no credit problems either. As a matter of fact, when I moved out, he said he trusted me to do a good job cleaning up and gave me back the whole deposit back in advance so I cound just move out when I wanted to and was ready. How awesome is that? I would move back there any day.

I actualy had an apartment manager who was that cool. He let the rent slide as much as he could (he had to have it in on the 3rd, I was supposed to pay a penalty on the 2nd). He used the old rate when I reneved my lease and when I finaly did move out he gave me my full deposit back.
Then I got the manager from hell when I moved to San Diego. The rent went up every 6 months, at least $75 and as much as $125.
That's why I own now. Cause renting sux!

my landlord is super cool too.
he's all into the gentrification (sp?) of downtown jc, so he keeps on buying up these crapola buildings and then completely renovating them.... and we keep on moving into his bigger better places. we're on our third apartment of charlie's, and all three we were the first people in after the renvoations. and granted our rent isn't that great, but its within market rates, so everything is ok. (actually, we are overpaying for our place now, and to think of it, we were over paying in the last place too. but both places are/were extreamly nice, so i guess it is worth it.)
anyway, our ll is definatly a good guy.
