5 minutes to walk it... or 5 minutes to drive it and find a place to park.
I live a little less than three blocks from where I work. Unless the weather is nasty, or I need to haul something to another building that day, I usually just walk.
Pure coincidence that I ended up so close to where I work, but it's sure nice to be able to run home and back in ten minutes for those occasions where I forget my pager, or some other item.

Right now 20 min for 6 miles (yes, that's SIX miles)
In about 2 weeks, it will be 30 min for 15 miles.

8min.... about 6 or 7mi
My condo is 3 blocks from the campus. I walk, only a few minutes to get campus, but campus is so big, depending on where the class is, I Somtimes have to walk 20 minutes.

all depends on where i'm working.
if i'm working at our downtown detroit office, i have a 35 mile drive, which without traffic can be done in ~30 mins, but w/ traffic is usually 45 minutes to 1 hour. then i have to park and i have a 10 minute walk to work from the parking ramp (or i can take the ghetto shuttle, but that takes just as long).
if i'm working our southfield office, it's about 17 miles....18 mins w/out traffic, up to an hour with traffic.
if i'm working out of town, i have a 45 minute drive to the airport.

I live 11 miles from work, takes 14 minutes. Only six turns, two stop signs, and one light. The speed limit is 55 or 65 the whole way, except for the last 4 blocks.

Takes me about 20 minutes to drive 12 miles to work. It will probably take me two hours to drive 30 miles to my new work and two hours back. I think I'm going to move out closer to work.

On most days, a little over 5 minutes (the exact length of Break Your Heart by BNL on Rock Spectable).
Friday afternoons and Monday mornings during the summer can be up to 5 times that long due to all the damn tourists.

Oh, you asked how long it takes to "get to work"...
It takes 14 minutes to get to my job, but at least another half-hour before I actually get to work. I gotta catch up on Got|Apex and other boards...

It's a 30 minute drive, but it takes 45 minutes to an hour most days because people in San Diego don't know how to drive. (Takes an hour and a half when it rains)

my car commute: (http://maps.yahoo.com/py/ddResults.py?Pyt=Tmap&tarname=&tardesc=&newname=&newdesc=&newHash=1375749093&newTHash=727436655&newSts=3008&newTSts=1000&tlt=39.287100&tln=-76.603700&slt=39.352400&sln=-76.645000&newFL=Use+Address+Below&newaddr=CROSS+KEYS+RD+and+FALLS+RD&newcsz=Baltimore%2C+MD+21210&newcountry=us&newTFL=Use+Address+Below&newtaddr=President+and+Pratt&newtcsz=Baltimore%2C+MD+21202&newtcountry=us&Submit=Get+Directions)
5.6 miles.
traffic causes the highway portion (about 3 miles) to take about 10-15 minutes. The biggest cause of all the traffic is one 'exit only' lane that causes the 3 lane highway to become 2 lanes for that exit. and then immediately becomes 3 lanes again. Traffic backs up like crazy because of that lane, and when it returns to 3 lanes, traffic is pretty free.
Then, the traffic lights downtown on President st. OMG. Stinkin retards, whoever thought up of the traffic lights, and the left turn only lanes.
The highway ends and becomes a city street. So, at the first light, an intersection, there are 2 'left turn only' lanes. Not uncommon, but what is annoying is that one of those lanes detract from the normal, straight lanes. So what was a 3 lane highway/street becomes 2 lanes. and guess what, right after that intersection, it becomes 3 lanes again. And what sucks about that is that the next street has 2 right turn lanes, and there's a lotta construction going on in that lane where 2 lanes of cars are turning.
And don't even get me started on the return trip.
stupid baltimore city planners or whoever is stupid....stupid...

It takes me around 25 minutes to get to work, sometimes 20. By the time I go to work the freeways have calmed down bigtime so it's a pretty quick shot.

yup yup.. traffic bites then, cuz the 5 is the main truck route for inter-Cali transportation. Loads and loads of big rigs to weave in and out of. But without traffic the main thing that takes time is getting to the freeway, :P
CC, same as college, heh... also same as 4-yr University, for the same timeframe... basic ed is the worst.
If i was to drive... it would take approx 20 mintues, about 20 miles.
but I don't drive.. so I take the bus... so it takes me a MINIMUM of an Hour and a Half to get to work, usually closer to two hours and fifteen.
Then it usually takes, at least two and a half hours to get home. Twice it's taken me over 3 hours....... **** mass transit in the LA area
