Can somebody explan why I get this problem.
Sometimes when I click on a link in Internet Explorer, it just doest go anywhere, for a period of time. Even if I have a few Explorer Windows open, if I click something in any of them it's just stuck. It doesnt even start downloading the link and it says Done in the bottom left of the Explorer screen.
Then some time later(10sec- 2 min) the link starts to download.
I used to have AOL and then switched to Verizon DSL but I still have this problem. It's not always like this but happens pretty often. The connection is good - if i have a file downloading it doesnt stop downloading even if the explorer is stuck. Can you guys help me out?

We need some more info, such as OS, Version of IE, and other programs running. Also, next time try the Tech Support Forum.

Are you using a dial-up modem. If you have several IE's open, you're splitting your connection between each page. It will slow performance dramatically. Try running one window of IE and see if it's any faster.

I used to have this problem ALL THE TIME with IE 5 and 5.5 - I never got it resolved. Twice I wiped my Win98 box and did fresh installs but it would always recur. It happened whether I was dailing in to AOL (don't ask), MSN ( I traveled a lot), or connected to my home or work networks. I never did figure it out. I've never had the prob in IE6 though, with any OS.

i know the answer man ... i work for verizon dsl as a repair tech ... checked your recieve windown size at www.dslreports.com/tweaks ... it should be set at 64k ... if any smaller you have to follow the tweak guide there to set it at 64k ... that should fix your problem ... also it probably is that you have too many open programs in the background and you dont have as much resources left ... try running a antivirus for possible virus and run for background programs ...
