Well ain't this dandy. I come back this evening to find out that all of my emails have been deleted. It seems that while i have kept my hotmail account as my offical homepage for the last several years, it has not been "offically" activated in the last 30 days. Of course there has been no notification nor any warnings. i don't know what to do. I have already fired off an email to their customer service. There has been some important messages and others that have a sentimental attachment that i may never see again :( .In all honestly this is just very frustrating. I hate this. There is nothing i can do. I have never felt so helpless before. So does anyone know of any upcoming public appearances of Bill Gates so that I can kick the mofo' in the ass? thanks.

Same thing happened to me last month. Lemme know if anything comes out of customer service. I have re-signed up for my Hotmail account, but prefer using other services. Hotmail only gives you like 2-3MB or something like that. Yahoo gives you 6MB. www.ureach.com gives you 6MB as well, as well as a temporary trial voicemail # i think. I'd just switch to another place! Hotmail is just a place for spammail!

I'm afraid this is gonna happen to me too sometime. I think it's just a marketing threat they use so that people would pay for the "premium" service. The premium service won't delete your mail, gives extra storage, etc.

I use my hotmail address for spam and I don't think it's that much of a hassle to visit once a month to keep the account alive.

that's the thing that makes this supersuckage. I check my hotmail daily. Hell, multiple times each day. There was no grounds for the deletion!!

Wait, if you check it everyday, then what is that activation thing you mentioned? Ok, I'm now scared too cuz I don't recall activating anything...

dude, i hate hotmail.
i had tons of emails "archived" in various hotmail accounts, and i started getting so much spam (literally 100s of messages a day) that i'd be over the "account limits" (this was back when you could only have 1 MB, i think), and so hotmail would start deleting all my archived messages instead of all the stupid spam.
it made me so mad because i had all this mail i wanted saved and what does hotmail do? do they delete the crap that is filling my mailbox? of course not! "hot lesbian teen co-ed action" is definitely more important than anything else in my mailbox. better not delete that!
bastids!

Just a thought...

But by using OE, you're using yet another product of Microsoft! Many e-mail viruses out there are targeted at OE. And also, by doing that, it'll be sucking your bandwith dry by downloading all that junkmail that everyone just loves oh so much! True, you can keep your accounts active, but I'd personally prefer just switching to another free email service, one with considerably less spammail.

Teah the worst thing about SHOTmail is that even if you don't register at any sites, spammers will somehow figure out your address and still spam you. As for yahoo, I've been using it for 6 months now. And let me tell you, I haven't gotten a single piece of junkmail yet. Sometimes I feel like a loser cause I won't get ANY mail all day!! :heh:

No "Bulk Mail"? I've had my account for at least 5 years now, and I get junkmail. But nothing compares to that of Hotmail.
