Yeah, I always prefer to drink Pepsi over Coke...unless it's in the presence of Jack. Never could figure out why...
rum is the drink you're looking for. rum and coke. rum and dr pee. it's all good.
Vanilla Rum and Dr. Pepper.... mmmm
Vanilla Rum and Coke = Vanilla Coke that gets your drunk before you know it... at least if it's mixed right ;)

The Vanilla Rum I prefer is a brand called Whalers (I picked it up cos the bottle is cool :P) It's about 16 bux at Pavilions :) and it's got a cork top. (pop!)
Also, the Vanillas Rum (if done correctly) makes the drink taste like whatever.. in Vanilla form. IE.. Vanilla Coke, Vanilla Dr. Pepper (My Favorite) Haven't tried Pepsi, although i've heard it's just ok.

Pavilions, and Vons, Ralphs... Haven't seen it at Rite Aid, or some of the "liquor" stores but you can get all sorts of 40's there :heh:

I haven't had a rum and coke in almost 20 years. I had a bad experience once, and that was enough.
There was a bar that used to have .25 drinks and .50 doubles (this was in 1982). I went there as soon as happy hour started and eventually had 19 rum and cokes. When you went with a crowd, everybody ordered two or three different drinks every time the waitress came by. That way you had a table of cheap drinks to last after happy hour. You know they were using some kind of rum that they brewed out back in a 55 gallon barrel. At those prices there was no way that they were using a name brand rum. I've had other rum drinks over the years, but never a rum and coke.
I'm not a real big fan of hard licquor and mixed drinks. I grew out of that phase many years ago. Occasionally I wouldn't mind some schnaps (root beer is great). Just give me a cold frosty beer (or two, three,...) and I'm happy.

GJ. there's a difference here though.... this is hard liquor... enough of any (small % alcohol by volume) drink can and will impair you. Personally, I've decided to not drink and smoke. We'll see how that goes....
If they take the computer away from me in that nice warm tower where they give me that night comfy white jacket.... i'll have nothing else to do.......
But.... drink more than smoke probably..... at least when you have cirrhosis its not physically apparent ... no horrible smell... no yellow teeth.....
Any thoughts?

i tried pepsi and it doesnt really taste good. somehow coke tastes much better with jd.
Try Pepsi One with Crown Royal. That's not bad if you prefer to drink Pepsi (and it's low cal. too :D ).

Mmmm... Root beer schnaps. Used to go through tons of this stuff when I was in my hard root beer floats stage. Two scoops of French Vanilla ice cream and a cup of root beer schnaps. Messes you up because it's soooo yummy that you have more than you should. :lick:

When I go to Karaoke places, all I drink is Jack and Seven Up. I rarely get sick or headaches from it. However, an average size drink at the Sheraton is now $4.50. What a rip-off!

I have to give Dark Fury a hand for the proper explanation of why pepsi doesnt taste right as a mixer.
I'm guessing this is one of those age things...those of us who have been around (such as DarkFury) know that the reason coke is the preferred mixer is because its less sweet, which doesnt interfere withe the taste of the booze.
As for Whalers Vanilla Rum, they sell it at Costco so you can get it for cheap there.
As for drinking for cheap - I remember paying $5 for all you can drink wells and beer in Gainesville (at club Kaos - long gone) and you can still get those deals in Tijuana out here (Club A as well as all the others)
For drinks that taste good try things like:
Apple Pie
1. Southern Comfort
2. Apple Juice
3. Cinnamon
Its basically a shot drink, but can be a full glass if you want. POur a little more than 1/2 a shot of the SoCo and then fill the rest of the shotglass with Apple juice. Sprinkle Cinnamon on the top. Slam the shot glass against the table to mix and then slam the drink. Taste like apple pie
Flaming Doctor Pepper - an oldy but a goody that cant be done in bars anymore
1. Bacardi 151
2. Amareto
3. Beer
Pour about 1/2 cup of beer into a glass that can accomodate a shot glass inside of it. Take shotglass, fill about 3/4 with amaretto and then top off with Bacardi 151. Carefully light the 151 on fire and drop into glass of beer. Shoot mixture....it taste like Doctor Pepper hence the name
Well that is two easy ones for now....if y'all want more let me know.

That's not a bad price for a drink... I've been to clubs where I'm buying shots of Patron Silver for $13 a shot. That's pretty rediculous. I miss Italy... Where you can buy a great bottle of wine for $7 or a 6 pack of Corona for $1.25.
