Can this be done with the SMC 7004AWBR deal?

I just ordered the router from Amazon, and stopped by MicroCenter today. I noticed they have a $50 MIR (good only for MicroCenter) which brings their price to the same as Amazon, $149.99. What I'm wondering is that is it possible to purchase the router from MicroCenter also, send in their MIR, and return a sealed package to 'em? That would bring the total price down to $99.99. Yeah, I know its kinda tricky, anyone else try this? SMC also has a $50 rebate for Fry's as well.

while it is probably not the most ethical way to get the rebate back, you should be able to do it as long as you have the receipt and the boxes have the same UPC. With that being the case, they would have no idea where you bought the second one.

I followed the link, but both the Fry's AND the Microcenter form was for the January promotion that ended on 1/5/02:

January Promotions:

Yeah, you're right about that. Weird, when I first posted the message, it was still there. And I have the MicroCenter ad right in front of me, which mentions a mfr rebate as well, which should end 3/2/02. And I just looked closer, and it says its only a $30 rebate (Microcenter offers instant $20 savings on it?), but it still should be available! :hmm:
