Staples attache, any good?

dude, the thing is NOT leather. at least mine isn't. its a cheap piece of crap. i have no idea what i will do with it. i can't believe staples was charging $40 for it. what a rip. has anyone had any luck selling it on ebay???

Yeah i third/fourth? that opinion..err actually that "fact" It's not leather its some cheapo plastic stuff...however, getting it for free was well worth it =) BUT i would NOT suggest buying it for 40.00 bucks there are way better attaches to buy for that amount of money.

I'm thinking of getting the one from Staples and ordering something for $20 and getting the case for free. Can anyone vouch for the quality of the bag? Is it really worth around $40 or should I just spend the money on an attache that I can actually choose?

I think it's decent as a freebie from a bigger purchase, but it's definitely not worth $40. It looks like (and is) one of those promotional deals that get sent out to small companies for nothing.

It's a big on the smallish side.. it is definately leather, and leather smelling, but it is small.. maybe good enough to carry a binder or some folders...

not bad for free, but not worth $40.

If you care about how you look carrying this thing, then you won't want to get it. When I look at it, it says to me:

"Hi! I'm a leather-wannabe. Yep, and I look saggy and and poorly-made. This will probably be others' opinion of you as well if you carry me."

I don't know what attache case you guys got , but I got in on the attache case deal when it was 1st posted months ago. I got 2 attache cases for the price of one. They lost my 1st order and sent out a replacement, and somehow I ended up with 2 of them. Let me tell you, the ones I got are both leather and have plenty of pockets and space. I even gave one to dad for Father's Day and he loved it !!!!!

I didn't realize that Staples was sending out NON-leather attaches. I got in on the same Buy$50GetFreeAttache deal and I'm using it every day. I got two of them and I've been totally happy about it. They're leather, with lots of pockets, a few zippered pouches and a decent strap. Bummer for those that have been saying their attaches suck. I definitely got a different one. I'd venture to say that people (others, not me) would even spend $40 for it. Guess ya just gotta cross yer fingers and hope you get a decent case.

The attache is not junk. It is functional, but not elegant. Hartmann or Coach it is not, but it is better than a backpack for light duty hauling. I have an extra if you want a really great deal.

Well, i know that the attache definitly varies from store to store (or perhaps which coupon you used for it). The one that I recieved is either real leather or a fake leather (i can't figure out which one), with a full leather/fake leather strap. It is a very good attache case and I just recently started using it for work for my summer internship. It works out great. It is definitly not a cheapo thing. I know I was confused at first because apex posted a picture of the free attache case and mine looked different (mine is nicer). I do not know if i just got lucky or if it was the code or what. Hope that helped.

there r 2 different type of the kase..the 1st promotion they ran back in may was the good looking one that have better strap, many pockets, and really smooth leather..btw that one cost about 59.99..the 2nd promotion they ran was the el cheapo n el krappy kase w/ little pocket, fake leather, and the zippy r krappy too..that one retail for 40...the strap r not so good looking and seen to not handle heavy load..if u one a good attache kase get one of the jansport one..and it comes w/ a full life time warranty..more bang for your buck in my opinion..

i seriously doubt ANYONE's case is leather..check out the tag inside it wil say leather or "man made materials" or synthetic.....leather briefcases sell for $100+ and unless staples subbed in a real good one, the promotional ones are sold through promotions wholesalers for about $7..ive seen them as giveaways from several office supply stores....if you did get one thats leather, please let us know the SKU # on the invoice...thanks!

okay.. I'd better change my attache description to "leather-like" too. the only thing on the tag is "made in china" so it's probably not real. but hell, ya can't tell the difference even when it's in your hands. my case has been taking a beating too.. even the scuff marks look like leather so far. I suppose I could cut it open one of these days to check it once and for all (I've still got the spare freebie) but who really cares? it's a decent enough attache for lugging crap back and forth from work.

Not sure which attache is which. Originally I used the $40 one, but there was a mix-up...and when they asked me for the code, I had forgotten it. The agent was really nice, and said this code was for spending $140 or more. The case looks, smells, and feels just like the leather chair. If it isn't real, I don;t think anyone can tell. It does have a LOT of compartments. But it is true, it doesn't feel as luxurious as a coach bag.
