Ah yes, well it is that time again, time to upgrade my computer with the latest and greatest stuff. Right now I have an thunderbird 800, Asus A7V mobo, 512mb pc133, 30gig hd, Hecules 3D Prophet II 64 GF2, SBlive, and some other random stuff. Everything works pretty well right now, having a few software problems but I am gonna install XP later this weekend, just feel like starting over.

But since chips are now at 2.xghz i thought I might be able to upgrade to something a lot faster for a decent price. I would need a new chip, new mb I assume and new ram. I can just keep all the other stuff because it works pretty well right now, and I am college kid with not lots of money.

Just wondering what people thought would be the cheapest/best upgrade solutions. Thanks!:bandit:

http://www.googlegear.com/

http://www.outsideloop.com/

Those are the places I got my new system setup from. The core components (CPU, Mobo, RAM) were bought from googlgear, the CPU Fan was purchased from outsideloop.

They have decent prices, and they are good with shipping.

figure maybe around 500 bucks is what I want to spend right now. I just upgraded from 2k to XP today, going pretty well except for the infinite loop driver problem with my 3d card that I am getting. But I will post about that in the other forum.
