I read somewhere that this drive can only copy 8 Meg per minute. If that's really true, then an 8GB transfer would take 16 hours. Anybody know anything different?

30 Mbytes per minute in native mode and up to 60 Mbytes per minute in compressed mode, although Seagate claims 72 Mbytes on their site.
