View Full Version : NSS: $50 for an hour of my time

I got a call tonight from a marketing group asking me questions about cable, phone, and internet service from COX. They want people to take part in a discussion group tomorrow night for an hour. I just have to attend (and talk) and I get $50 afterwards. It's between paydays, so this is a bonus.

:hmm: So you are sure it's not your old phone company trying to make you come back? Free money is always suspicious.

I'm pretty sure it's not my old phone company, which is now Qwest. I went to Sprint PCS as soon as they had free long distance with most of their plans. I'll find out what it's all about in about two hours.

Research studies rule. Nothing like cash money under the table for an hour or two of time.... :)
What's even better is when they cancel on you but pay you anyway- I got $100 a few months back for showing up when they had cancelled!

The discussion group was about cable bills. We saw several different types of bills and talked about what we liked or disliked about them. I said what I'd like is an online 'configurator' that would let you pick and choose movie or channel packages and give you a final price. The way they price things, you can get charged more if you drop a movie channel due to their package discounts. It was a good use of my time.
I know someone at work that was also called and he turned them down. He told me he didn't have the time. I don't know about you, but unless I was doing something real important I could spare an hour.
