She is pretty much the stereotypical butch female. She rides a Harley, plays the drums, talks and acts very manly, even has a beer gut.
The big shocker would have been if she was actually straight. There was never any doubt in my mind.

I never thought she was a lesbo even though she is kinda butch.Seriously who cares but I guess the gay community does, so that they have another person to support the cause. I guess all that jazz about being in love with Tom Cruise was a crock of schitt. Bet he feels like a dumbass.

it's too bad that it has to be a big deal at all. hopefully the new openness about her sexuality is something positive for her, personally and professionally, and cuts down on all the rumors and crap rather than increasing them.

One thing I have to respect about Rosie O'Donnell is that she doesn't push her sexuality on everyone the way Ellen Degeneres has. Ellen Degeneres shoved her sexuality down her viewers' throats seemingly with every episode of her shows after she "officially" came out. She basically forced her network (I think it was ABC/Disney) to make a decision on her and she has lost every time.
Rosie O'Donnell hasn't done that. She's lesbian and she's not forcing it on me (well, yet) and that's ok in my book.

the fact that we live in a world where people think you ought to hide your homosexuality is not okay in my book.
now, if your problem with ellen is that she's just not the least bit funny, and in fact quite annoying, and has gone way overboard with every bit of schtick being about her homosexuality in a sad attempt to save her crappy show with some sensationalism or pandering or whatever you want to call it... then i wholeheartedly agree.
Rosie Blabbermouth shoves her hypocritical gun grabbing views down people's throats (ex. Tom Selleck).
Ellen Degeneres is totally unfunny. The same can't be said of O'Donnell.

Ok, I forgot about that and I will concede on that point. Owning several guns myself I should have remembered that... :disa:

I disagree... they are both equally unfunny.
Penny #1 - I'm not surprised.
Penny #2 - Well, she and I have something in common then. We both prefer women.

Why am I the only one who has that dream?
Back to the topic at hand... Rosie is a nut-job. She used her fame to push her political agenda on her viewers. It used to be about being funny... which she was (at one point) a little bit funny when she did stand-up.
I remember seeing some old Arsenio Hall show with her and Madonna on. Arsenio asked about each of their love lives... and Rosie said something like, "God... please, no." Not a huge deal... just one of those things that makes you say, "Hmmmmmm." (did you like that tie-in?)
Anyways... to recap... Rosie is a nut.

I saw her stand up show in person once-I must admit it was funny as hell despite the fact she is totally RAUNCHY. Her TV show began as a sweetsie, cutesy pie kind of show were she never promoted drinking, etc..the tv station here was promoting her-because they were trying to give away tickets and no one wanted them..then she started giving out free stuff and EVERYONE wanted to go..then it was impossible to get a ticket for the damn thing because the waiting list was 3 YEARS LONG.(Longer than letterman at this point)..then she went over the top with that gun thing, and her political views about GWB and the show started to suck..it turned into her own personal gripe show..she's just like Kathy Lee in some ways (although her kids 'aren't' perfect)..I know that since the show is coming to an end she has been doing stuff on the show she never would have done in the beginning-like giving beer to her guests when they do cooking segments..and I heard she is having a show for 40 year olds at the end of the season and she is providing beer and pizza..*G*..there goes her perfect image..hahaha..who cares if she's gay-now she's just annoying.

i really could care less. the only unfortunate impact on me is that it will probably mean a spike in publicity for her, and quite frankly, i can't stand her. she annoys me on so many levels, and i just don't want to see her.

i know. her standup is really pretty clever, and i have enjoyed it in the past, but once she started in with the talk show and the magazine she's just full of herself and annoying.
