View Full Version : monitor problem (i think)

When using my 19" Optiquest Q95 monitor, it occasionaly flickers and the sides, (the left and the right sides), shrink inwards an inch on either side. It remains like that until i jiggle the monitor around. sometimes i also jiggle the cords and it works again, but i think it is actually the action of the monitor jiggling that restores its size. Anyone have any ideas on what is wrong? Or is the monitor just going bad?
Thanks in advance for a response!

If the cable is screwed in tighly on the back of the monitor & the back of the PC, and if the power is plugged in tightly, then yes, your monitor is probably going bad.

I would go with the loose cable, hopefully you don't have any bent pins on either the monitor or your video card. Just make sure the cable is screwed in tightly and check with the manufacturer if it still happens the flyback may be on its way out...

i have the creative dtt3550 cambridge soundworks speakers, two on top of the monitor and 1 on the left, 2 on the right...

I don't think that the speakers make the moniter flicker. It would only make the picture distorted and change the picture only if the speakers move also. I think it's the cord if that fixed the flickering while jiggling it.
