Hey, does anyone have a carfax acct? Is it really worth it? There's a car i'm looking to buy. It says "The Carfax database contains 3 important vehicle history records about this 1994 Toyota Camry LE. Order the complete Carfax Report now.", not sure if its worth the 20 to buy the report, what do you think?

Never used it myself but my frinds dad checked out a car he was buying and found out the odometer had been rolled back. I think he still ended up buying it but the knocked the price way down.

I used this once and it showed the car had been in an accident which resulted in major work. So... I'd recommend the $20 for the peace of mind alone.. good luck!

I invested the $20 about 6 weeks ago when I was looking for a used car/truck. I was interested in one car, and it had a record thru carfax that showed the possibility of odometer rollback. I stayed away from that car. I ended up calling my wife on the cell phone to check on a truck from the driveway of a person selling a truck. She went on-line and the truck had a clean record and I ended up buying it. 20 buck for 60 days of access is well worth it if you're loooking at a lot of used vehicles.

Naa, only one vehicle. Its my neighbor's car, Toyota camry LE. 74k miles, with cruise and power everything. I had a friend look at it and he says there is a possibility of an accident with the left side cuz there is a slight gap near the door. He's asking for 7 thou, kelly's blue book says trade-in is worth 6175(condition isnt excellent, just good). I'm thinking 65oo is a good max. What do you think?

Here's one thing to look out for: we have a car w/extremely low miles that we have known the history of...its an 87, and in 92 the carfax says it has 29000, in 94 37000 then 97 151000..the carfax suggested odometer rollback but its b/c sum dumb mechanic thought a 10 year old car would have 151000 and put that on the smog check, when it only had 51000 miles....so its not always a rollback (unless you have 6 digit odometers)

Hmm.. That is trade0in Value but not retail. Dealers buy/trade in at a lower price because they are expecting to make money off the car so when then sell off same car it will be more then trade in..
