View Full Version : I ordered the Gainward ti200 128mb version because the 64mb version was out of stock.
Now they have my order in but it has all ready been shipped :/
What should I doo keep it or no? Do you think the 128mb will help me out EVER? I have heard that it is good if you want to use 4x aa all the time and that POSSIBLY some games will come out with large textures, but how far away is that? I heard SOF2 will have 1024x768 textures but that doesnt even tax a 64mb card 100%.
Keep it.
Run at high resolution in 32-bit color with all the eye candy on with fsaa turned on. Games will continue to get more graphically intense. 128MB is going to become the standard for high end videocards. Texture compression can help but having more ram is always nice even if used little now.

If the price difference for the 128 ain't that much more, stick with it. In a year or two, I'm sure there'll be a number of games that would be able to fully utilize it all.
Way back when, when I used to sell computers, I used to tell people that 16MB was 'nuf for RAM.. Going to 32MB was somewhat crazy, and 64MB would be ludicrous, unless you had loads of money to waste.. Now, the absolute bare minimum is 64MB. That'll be like your card in a few years =P
