View Full Version : does winXP do everything for you when installing from scratch?

Im in the process of building a computer and not sure how windows xp installs on a brand new built from scratch computer. after i build my computer do i just insert the windows xp cd and it will do everything for me? does it take care of drive partitions as well? I have two hard drives, what drive will the processor install on? just trying to understand if windows xp does everything for me to get my computer to work fully. thanks for help.

The cd will format the boot drive for you to a partition size of your choice. Then under xp you can partition and format the other drive.
Yup it will do it all, I have had a couple systems where I could not get it to boot from the CD, But Microsoft had XP install disks you can download in case you need them...
