Office Max and Palm V deal?

Anyone have any luck exchanging theirPalm V's for Palm VX's?

The 3 Office MAxs I've called seem bewildered by my question.

Yeah, a LOT of my friends have already done this with no problems. Kind of strange they're not letting you. You try an office depot? Usually it's just $74 to swap up to the higher model, no questions asked.

A couple of them said they would (both OfficeMax and Depot), but only with a receipt from their store. This is in NOrthern California and Southern California if that helps.
