Puff the Magic Dragon - Peter Paul and Mary

it's appropriate in more than one way with the concept of Harry "Potter."

So why are you worrying about it tonight? :heh:

Anyway, sorry, but I can't be of any help with the songs. How, with your spelling, there are a few certain significant things you might want to improve before you become a prisoner to this project tomorrow.

Would help ya man, but I never read the "Harry Potter" series books.

Never really found that interesting. Had you informed us yesterday though, I probably could have gotten the information from some people at work today for ya. :(

Hopefully someone will read this for ya before tonight man.

Harry Potter falls deeper into the Dursleys' bad books during his summer holiday as he accidentally casts a spell on visting Aunt Marge, causing her to inflate like a balloon and stick to the ceiling. He packs his trunk and runs away with his owl Hedwig. He is picked up by a bemused double decker, the Knight Bus, and is brought to the friendly inn called "The leaky cauldron", where he spends the rest of his holidays.

The atmosphere at Hogwarts is tense this year. The castle is guarded by Dementors. These creatures can suck all happiness out of their victims. The reason for the Dementors' presence at Hogwarts is, that Sirius Black has escaped from the prison Azkaban. Black is thought to have betrayed Harry's parents to Lord Voldemort and is responsible for their death. He was also convicted of killing 13 people with one single curse. He is obviously after Harry.

A ray of hope for Harry and their friends is their new teacher for Defence against the Dark Arts, Professor Lupin. Harry soon needs, all that Lupin has taught him, because Black tries at several times, to get into Harry's dormitory, a big black dog is haunting him and his divination teacher Sybill Trealawney has predicted his early death.
Just found a summary ... might help with song suggestions. :)

Theres this one song that was in the movie "American Pie", and was a theme for McDonalds for a while too... It went something like this..

Do you believe in magic
And I hope you do

... I forget the rest of the lyrics... couldnt find it, maybe you'll have better luck.. i think that might work for Harry Potter. =) As for the prisoner thing.. the title fits, but I'm not sure if you want this song. Britney Spears "I'm a slave 4 U" =P

Are you allowed to use music from the movie? =P That'd make it a tad bit easier =) But I just noticed, all of those are like orchestra kinds of things. Does the songs require lyrics?

AHH! thats the one I found in the searches.. I was thinking too much about the lyrics that was on the McDonalds commercials... But yeah, this is the song! This song might work, but its old! 60's.. =P

Do you believe in magic in a young girl's heart
How the music can free her, whenever it starts
And it's magic, if the music is groovy
It makes you feel happy like an old-time movie
I'll tell you about the magic, and it'll free your soul
But it's like trying to tell a stranger 'bout rock and roll

If you believe in magic don't bother to choose
If it's jug band music or rhythm and blues
Just go and listen it'll start with a smile
It won't wipe off your face no matter how hard you try
Your feet start tapping and you can't seem to find
How you got there, so just blow your mind

If you believe in magic, come along with me
We'll dance until morning 'til there's just you and me
And maybe, if the music is right
I'll meet you tomorrow, sort of late at night
And we'll go dancing, baby, then you'll see
How the magic's in the music and the music's in me

Yeah, do you believe in magic
Yeah, believe in the magic of a young girl's soul
Believe in the magic of rock and roll
Believe in the magic that can set you free
Ohh, talking 'bout magic

Do you believe like I believe Do you believe in magic
Do you believe like I believe Do you believe, believer
Do you believe like I believe Do you believe in magic
{Fade}

About the only other suggestion I could give would be to use a search engine (google, of course!) and enter things like "song lyrics magic" or other such terms and see what you can find.

For some reason, I thought of "Greatest Love of All" by Whitney Houston. Considering Harry is a child, and all.. it might work?
You might want to check out a song or two from sorceror/witch movies.. Example: Practical Magic..

How many tracks do you need total?

Haven't read that one yet. We are just finishing the first one.

Hmm.... but Pink Floyd sounds fitting.

On the run (instrumental) from Darkside of the Moon.

Also Salsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel (Awsome song about a life choice. Very powerful lyrics)

Return To Innocence - Enigma

Loreena Mckennitt and Enya

Steve Miller Band/Sugar Ray - "Abracadabra" lyrics (http://www.saywhat.sphosting.com/s/sugarrabra.shtml)
--- The song was in the "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" soundtrack.

I'm usually good at this stuff.. my mind is drawing a blank.. that might be due to MIDTERMS! UGH!
