Lyrics are as follows

I lost my love, my life....that night...
I found the love that I knew I had lost...

Can't remember much more, but its a mild song, and I really like the lyrics.

If anyone could help please, it would be great.

Sounds like you're looking for this. (http://www.tasgreetings.com/lastkiss.htm)

Oh where oh where can my baby be
The lord took her away from me
She's gone to heaven so I got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world

We were out on a date in my daddy's car
We hadn't driven very far,
There in the road straight ahead
A car was stalled the engine was dead
I couldn't stop so I swerved to the right
I?ll never forget the sound that night
The screaming tyres, the busting glass
The painful scream that I heard last

Oh where oh where can my baby be
The lord took her away from me
She's gone to heaven so I got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world

When I woke up the rain was falling down
There were people standing all around
Something warm flowing through my eyes
But some how I found my baby that night
I lifted her head she looked at me and said
Hold me darling just a little while
I held her close , I kissed her our last kiss
I found the love that I knew I would miss
Oh now she's gone even though I hold her tight
I lost my love, my life that night

Oh where oh where can my baby be
The lord took her away from me
She's gone to heaven so I got to be good
So I can see my baby when I leave this world

Pearl Jam?

Last Kiss?

sad lyrics

Oh where, oh where can my baby be?
The lord took her away from me.
She's gone to heaven so I got to be good,
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.

We were out on a date in my daddy's car.
We hadn't driven very far...
There in the road, strait ahead,
A car was stalled, the engine was dead.
I couldn't stop, so I swerved to the right.
I'll never forget the sound that night.
The screaming tires, the busting glass,
The painful scream that I heard last.

Oh where, oh where can my baby be?
The lord took her away from me.
She's gone to heaven, so I got to be good,
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.

When I woke up, the rain was pouring down.
There were people standing all around.
Something warm flowing through my eyes,
But somehow I found my baby that night.
I lifted her head, she looked at me and said,
"Hold me darling just a little while."
I held her close, I kissed her our last kiss.
I found the love that I knew I'd miss.
Well now she's gone even though I hold her tight.
I lost my love, my life that night.

Oh where, oh where can my baby be?
The lord took her away from me.
She's gone to heaven, so I got to be good,
So I can see my baby when I leave this world

Wow, amazing. Both of you replied at 9:46AM. Maybe they should change the site to count seconds, if not milliseconds. We'll have our own Olympics for posting!;)

One thing to add. Though a lot of references to this song cite Pearl Jam, it originally was sung by "J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers" in 1964. (That's the version I remember. :) )

that is correct sir.
pearl jam did a cover of it that appeared on the 1999 kosovo refugees benefit CD (and was also their first #1 single). the song also ended up as the a-side for the Ten Club christmas single in either 1999 (i think that was the year)

I thought that your "sir" was based on my stating that I remembered the 1964 version.

no, the "sir" is just a form of address i use now and then (more IRL than online).
of course, it is deserved by you, given your sterling reputation here for thoughtful, intelligent, and reasoned contributions to discussions. :)
