Yes there are generally some coupons around that either give you a free modem, software, or save like 50-100 dollars off of a computer purchase online at either dell or gateway. The best sites to look at are actually your creditcard sites (mastercard, visa, citibank, etc. )
I just looked a little bit and citibank has a coupon for a free software bundle with any purchase at dell.com
I know aol sometimes has 50 off or 75 off but i can't find it right now,
Hope this helped some.

Check this deal:
Here is a great home or business machine. Dell has long been one of our favorite PC suppliers. Good support, long warranty, great partz. Dell makes it tricky to find the best price. Select the wrong category and you are stuck with slower configurations, different parts, or costlier on-site warranty options. If you had selected Home & Home Office to buy a this system, you would pay $20 more and not get Office 2000! (Ouch)
From the home page, select Small Business, Desktops, Dimension, Dimension XPS T. Customize and Price, 700 Mhz P3 - with Office 2000. All Option View. Select the following options: 64 MB RAM (RAM is cheaper elsewhere), 10GB Drive, Video Ready (I have a great monitor), Soundblaster 64V PCI. Other options: 1 Year Next Day Service, 16 MB ATI Rage 128 Pro, No network card, 48X CD-ROM, No Speakers, No Modem. Building a P3-700 would cost you $400 for the motherboard and CPU alone. (If you could find the CPU in stock that is) Add the cost of Office 2000 Small Business Edition. ($450) You get the idea..
