You guys remember that $50 off $500 that works for a min. of $50 (error on Buy.com's part)? Well, I ordered an ELSA Gladiac with it expecting that it would be canceled, but it didn't. I received it today.
Hope you guys are having similar luck.

Buy.com is a really great company. I made a $38 order w/ a $30 off $150 coupon on Sunday. Unlike some stores (Staples, who didn't even tell us our orders were canceled), buy.com shipped!

Just because they let you misuse a coupon doesn't mean that they are a great company. It means that they made a mistake and are willing to absorb the losses to have satisfied customer. The sad thing is that no one would go back if there weren't any coupons.
It makes me sick when you say "Buy.com is a really great company." It's like saying, this company is the bomb because I broke the rules and they didn't even catch me. In fact they shipped the item! Your greeeaat!
And it's very different from the Staples situation. Staples cancelled orders even when the coupons were used correctly. I would think Buy.com has the rights to cancel all orders made with coupons and didn't meet the required minimum. It's only logical and fair for them. They're not obligated to program their system so that it automatically recognizes that you didn't make a purchase over $150 or $500 or whatever the amount was.

Ahh, Buy.Com IS a great company. I've ordered much from them, never using ANY of these weirder deals ($50 off $50-- never thought it'd work! http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/wink.gif, and except for the fact I have to pay sales tax (I live in CA) they really are great. The customer service really seems to be out to keep the customers happy, prices are great, service is quite fast....
Now if they'd only knock a buck or two off their shipping I'd be totally happy.

so what's the coupon code for the 50 of 500, or 30 off 150?

Nazrac, the deal is dead. You know the saying, you snooze you lose.

I sort of think Buy.com would rather eat the costs for the kind of word of mouth advertising they receive. Plus, I am not really sure if the fouders of buy.com really wanted to earn a profit. Maybe, they just wanted to have an IPO, get rich, and cash out. So, you might not really be hurting any people, just the traders on wall street. Plus, if they use shadey accounting practices like many other e-tailers, they can count your coupon orders as revenue and then use the loss as a tax write off. So, maybe uncle sam is anotherone taking a hit from this.

The status of my order still Shows "at warehouse". I am wondering if the order will come or not? Did everybody get their order?
waiting ....

Umm, the only way to hurt the traders of wall street is by buying index funds - or with a gun.
The people hurt by buy.com going south are average middle class investors. They're the only ones who buy into these kind of internet companies, either directly through online brokerages, or indirectly through mutual funds or pension funds.
