I'm guessing that your FSB setting is not optimized for you chip. It sounds like you are running on a 200MHz FSB with a 5.5x multiplier. If you were to change to a 266MHz FSB (which should be a jumper setting or a setting in your BIOS; check your manual if you have one), you should be running at 1.46 GHz (266x5.5 = 1463 MHz). Best of luck!

If you are from California (Southern that is), you could pick up a bare Athlon XP 1900+ and a EPoX EP-8KHA+ MoBo @ Fry's (owns outpost) for only $229! I would have picked this up if I didn't buy my 1700+ and Shuttle AK31 MoBo two weeks ago!

I have the same board and you just have to switch FJ1 dip switch.
It comes from Outpost set on # 2 switch set on ON it needs to be off.
that will bring you to 1700 xp. Did the same they on mine when I put it together.....See page 11 on your manual.

Set FJ1 1) ON 2)OFF 3)OFF 4)OFF
