after i turn on my computer for the first time, how do I get my Operating system installed? I have windows xp. I was told that i just insert the cd into the cd drive. don't I have to though change some settings in the BIOS so the cd drive recongnizes the cd? Also, will XP partition BOTH hard drives i have? Ive heard people say that XP only partitions one of the drives and then i have to go back and partition the other one. also, after i get xp installed do i need to install any drivers for my video card, sound card, etc. doesn't xp already have the drivers so i wouldnt need to install any? anything else i need to do to get it setup please tell me. Thanks for help.
Yes, you need to set the BIOS to boot from the CD. XP setup will start and run you through the prompts to partition and format the drive. Just read the prompts carefully. Be sure to choose NTFS and not FAT32 as the file system. XP support a lot of hardware on its own, so you may not need any additional drivers. That was the case for me anyway. Also, as long as you can get on the net you can always download new drivers after you get XP installed.

You could just format and partition one drive before installation! After then installation, format your other drive using WinXP..
