I spent the earlier part of this evening at a fund raiser for Cystic Fibrosis. It was a nice affair called "Taste of the Tier"..Free Food, Free Booze, and tons of stuff being auctioned off (both silent auction and regular auction). The Platinum sponsor was Crowley Foods Inc. of which the CEO is a close personal friend-so we got to sit at the Platinum Sponsors table (woohoo) ..Also at my table was the the spokeswoman for Maggio Cheese, and the Ceo of COFFARO ITALIAN BEER(which btw if you live in New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania-be sure to try this beer,it really is a good flavored very authentic beer-close to what my old Italian uncles used to have with their meals). Crowley Foods alone raised 22 thousand dollars for research for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis-only to be matched dollar for dollar by the Boomer Eiaison(sp-sorry)Fund. Their Donation alone, plus that from the other sponsors, auction totals,and contributions came close to 60 thousand dollars. A good haul for a 3 hour event. Yet-never enough to cover the cost of research till there is a cure. So I'm just giving you your public service message for the month-Give generously, and if you can't do that..just give something. Every cent helps.
