After about a year of increasingly bad convergence, focus, and green shadows that were uncorrectable by the onscreen controls, I said screw it and popped the top of my GDM-400ps 19" Sony.
I used to work for the apple maintanence department at the university, so I have been in many monitors before, just never adjusted the convergence and such.
I used a plastic butter knife to break the whiteout off of the convergence adjusters and dialed it right in. Damn near perfect convergence on all corners and in the middle now, better than it was when I got it. I also turned the green gain down as it was getting a little over zealous with the shadows.
NSS: I don't have to buy a new monitor now, woohoo.
S: It's hard looking at a monitor that is so clear after a fuzzy one for so long.
