Hi all,

I am new here, but I just was wondering whether anyone had any experience with using multiple 2.4 GHz frequency devices in one home. I have an 802.11b network going now. I have certainly considered upgrading to a 2.4 GHz wireless phone setup. And I saw this video transmission thing on the front deals page here today. It looks like a great deal, but I am worried about having massive problems with interference. I know that there are channels for my network, but I don't know how configurable other devices are and just how well behaved different "channels" are with each other. Anybody have an answer for me? I am sure that I'll end up missing out on this deal at this point, but it is good to know for future reference.

My Orinoco wireless LAN setup has problems with my Panasonic 2.4GHz phone. However, Apex's Toshiba 2.4GHz phone doesn't interfere with his wireless LAN...

Stick with 900MHz for the phone, or switch to 802.11a, which operates somewhere in the 5GHz range (good advice, eh? Here, let me pay for that new WAP...)

Everyone I know with 802.11b who used 2.4GHz phones dropped their connection whenever the phone was on.

Just a quick question here -- wouldn't the technology that the cordless phone is using determine whether there would be interference? Maybe, I can understand an analog or even a digital 2.4GHz cordless phone causing problems but I would think that a DSS 2.4GHz cordless phone wouldn't. Another factor could be whether the cordless phone transmits at 2.4GHz in both directions to the base station or does this not matter?
