As part of a laptop migration, I burnt all my files to a 4.7GB DVD-R disk using my firewire DVD-RAM/R. When I insert the burnt disk into the laptop's DVD-ROM, the drive continuously attempts to access the drive, but will not read it.
Anyone know what my problem is?
I've closed the session on the DVD-R properly, and I know both drives are in working order. I'm sure I just have to define the type of file table somewhere.
In terms of hardware, I should be fine, I thought I did enough investigation to conclude the burnt DVD-R would work in the DVD-ROM, but perhaps this might be a thread for the OS forum, as my "flavor of the month" happens to be WinXP Pro.
Any help would be appreciated.
FYI, hardware specs: Dell Inspiron 8100, 1gig proc, 512MB RAM, ATI 64MB, 30GB drive, on board DVD-ROM, WinXP Pro, Que! Firewire DVD-RAM/R, SAI WriteDVD software.
For those who may have seen a post similar to this in the past, I apologize, I actually did a search, first, in an effort to avoid having to re-post a topic, but perhaps my parameters were too loose. Also, for those who are concerned, I was able to retrieve all of my data from the DVD-R by re-inserting it into the original DVD-RAM/R! :D
