computer keeps on saying new hardware found...

everytime i turn the computer on it says it has found the VIA busmaster IDE drivers. then a few sec. later a new hardware wizard window pops up saying that it will search for new drivers for the VIA busmaster IDE drivers. why would it be giving me this if it already said that they were installed? I then put in my 4in1 driver cd and it says it cant find the drivers on the cd. what does this mean? this new hardware wizard window pops up everytime i turn the computer on. really annoying. maybe there is a way to uninstall the drivers and start over? Thanks.

Try looking on the web for updated drivers. Download them, set them up, and maybe your problems will be solved. Also, the drivers that came with your MB might not support the OS that you're using..? What OS are you using BTW?

hehe, stupid xp and the ak31a, i don't know what that is, but it never went away for me, i just ignored it and switched back to w2k.

I seem to recall always getting something like this with my ABIT KT7A-Raid. I think I finally pointed it to the C:\Windows\INF folder to find what it wanted, and I stopped getting the message after that. (This was on Windows 98.)
