Well I have wanted to get a nice LCD monitor for a long time, but they used to be soooooo expensive. They have dropped in price somewhat and I really want one now. For a couple of reasons but mainly because it will take up less space and be easier on my eyes... or so they say.

I just reat someone else's post and turned on the Clear Type thing, looks pretty good on my crt, tweaked it a little and it helps. But I still want an LCD.

I have a 19" Viewsonic PS790 right now, and just wanted to know what people suggested for an LCD. I don't want a 15", and would prefer a larger one with high resolutions, but it depends on price. I am not sure how much I want to spend yet because I just started looking. Any help you could give me would be appreciated! Thanks :thumb:

A "decent" 17" lcd will run around $500-800 or so. I personally love the samsungs but they are pricey. I hear that the KDS ones aren't to bad for the low price though. I belive its the rad7.

no, the KDS's kinda suck, actually....low gamma, which you have to watch out for in LCDs.

The Samsungs are quite good, as are the Viewsonics, sony..and one other I'm blanking on.

Whatever you do, make sure you get one with digital (DVI) input. Even if you have a VGA only card now, next time you upgrade your video card you'll want to have that connection.

Please post your views about this..

Ya I have had a card with a digital out for a while, just been waiting to get something to use it with. Man there are some nice monitors out there... wish I had unlimited $$ though...
