View Full Version : How much paper do you use?
I've been working all day (yes with paper) and I wondered about how much everyone use...
I know how much my department goes through a week... what about everyone else?

plain paper I probably use 20-30/month mostly for dumb assignments.
paper in my binder for notes, maybe 2-3/day for clackulus, 5 days a week, so a max of 60/month not counting the assignments.

Maybe about 100-150 a month. I guess you print out silly stuff when you are doing stuff for undergrads and such. It's free from the department so I guess I don't think about it so much
ok... just to let you guys know... my department (4 guys) we go through on average.... 4.5 pallets of paper...

i print :P
I run two Commcerical Canon printers for a legal documentation company. Basically we film their documents, bring them back, develop the film, QC, print it, put it all together, and send it back to them (that's the basic package)

Honestly, when Nija first posted this thread... By the title I thought it was gonna qualify as a "potty thread". :hihi:
BTW, my job is supposed to be "paperless", but all in all, I go through a ream of paper every 3 to 6 months.
thanks... glad to know that I have that kind of effect on everyone...

The people in my office use about 6 forests worth of paper a day (stock analysts). They constantly print out tons of crap then leave it in stacks in their offices. A couple weeks later they throw it out.

depends on what i'm doing. sometimes, if i need a lot of stuff printed, i'll go through a couple reams in a day. other times, i'll use maybe 2 sheets per week.

I hardly ever print anything, and when I do I save it to disk and print it at school at their expense.

Same here....You should have seen the stack of paper at the print station when I accidentally printed a 100 slide presentation (teachers use them as daily notes for each day for 14 weeks) at the schools expense...and forgot to check HANDOUTS (print 6 slides to page) and instead checked SLIDES (100 pages worth...yup). Lets just say that I didn't walk up to the desk and claim them...
PS- Yes, our school recycles...

Hehehe... I also print off the school's account. Unfortunately, the school limits my printing to 100 pages/week... so I usually get pretty near that. As far a lined papers, I go through a notepad or two a week. I'm more creative and thorough when I write then when I type for some reason... so for most of my papers, I write it out first, then type it up.

When I was in school, about one per month. Now, one every six months.
It's a good thing all of my employers have been well-stocked.
