View Full Version : Help with Fan placement

I just ordered this case and was wondering what the best fan placement was. I know I'll have to fans for intake in the front and 2 in the back for exhaust my Enermax PSU has an exhaust fan as well. I currently have a 120mm fan on the side of my current case as intake. Should I use this fan as intake or should I not use it? Should i add it for exhaust? I'm a little baffled by this. I want to get the maximum possible air cooling with the least amount of money spent. I have all the fans here that I could need for my new case, but the 120mm fan really has me stumped.

The airflow is from bottom to top that is why the front intake fan is placed lower than the exhaust fan from the rear! The side case fan should always be an intake fan but you could add a fan on top of the case for exhaust! IT's goin' to be loud with all the fans!

Sometime more is not always better. If you have too much air blowing around inside your case, there may not be a chance for good circulation to develop. I would think that you would be fine with 2 intake and two exhaust fans, but if you feel that you need a side fan, it should be an intake.

ok I've decided...I ordered a window kit...gonna do a red translucent window with a Nuclear symbol etching. So I will have 2 intake fans and 2 exhaust fans with my PSU as a 3rd exhaust fan. The 120mm fan will not be used but rather a window will be installed :-)
