I was surfing around dell's website trying to take advantage of 10% off and $125 off $1000 on the main page. I came across this NETTV 29" monitor (it supports 1024X768 and has RGB input) for $943.95-Just do a search for NETTV. I add in a $63.95 Pacific Digital DVD-ROM. And the total come up just above $1000.
After the 10% off (-$100.79)
$125 off $1000 (-$125)
Free shipping (-$75)
The total is $821.21 after TAX.
I found a website with all the details on this monitor. They sell it for $1299.

I think it could be a good deal if you need a monitor that is $29 inch. It also has HDTV capability.

Kind of neat, but 2 drawbacks:

This thing is a behemoth!
Weight: 112 lbs.
Dimensions: 29"(W) x 23"(H) x 20"(D)

and also the dot pitch is:
.67mm
which wouldn't produce very good images

You'd probably fair better [and would be cheaper] with a good quality 29" television and a scan converter.

Is it true that most TVs has a dot pich larger than that? Besides, does the TV normally support 800X600 and 1024X768 resolution? My laptop support S-video out but I have to adjust the resolution to 300X400(something like that). I guess a HDTV could have a higher resolution but not normal 29" TVs.

The place that I work has these NetTV monitors in our conference room and they are essentially a spiced up Sony TV. The design is about the same as a Sony and they work well for what they do. Definately not a desktop monitor though.
