ucla wont suck without your friend. Whats the point of going off to school if your going to hang out with all the same people. This would be a good chance for you to meet new people.

yea u should definitely tell your friends to appeal. from all the appeals i've heard about, i'd say there's a good chance they will get in.

like hapoo said, college is a great time to meet new ppl and make more friends. it wouldn't sux that bad. here is a fact that will make you a bit happier:

i like that fact :)....and about my friends, its not so much that it would suck without them it just kinda sucks right now cuz like 4 peopel got in and 12 got rejected, so everyone is kinda in a bad mood right now, except this one kid who is a cocky little bastard and everyone thinks hes a jackass, but thats another story...ask zcloydster about him.

i agree with what the others said, don't worry about where your friends go. come to UCLA and have a freakin' blast. don't room with a high school friend when you come here either, that's lame. just come here and become your own person. (not that you aren't already, but most college freshman are pretty tied to high school. you can spot the frosh b/c they're wearing all HS shirts and ASB crap. it's time to step away form the high school nest and fly!) you grow up more than you can ever imagine in college. some of your high school friends will grow up with you, some won't, and that's ok, it's all part of the game. just make sure you go the direction that is best for you. it may not seem right at the time, but in some cases it's better for you to ditch some (not all) friends and make some new ones.

i invite you to come and discover the wonders and joys of UCLA. this is my 5th and final year here and i can honestly say i've loved my 5 years and wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. there are people here among the 32,000 students that are really cool and you'll love being friends with...and then there's the other, not-so-fun people here. ignore them.

I got rejected from UCLA 5 years ago. I found out that I would've gotten in if I didn't go "Undeclared". I was like "DOH!" Anyways, UC San Diego was and still is a good school.

I am a UCLA grad. Most of my friends from high school didn't get into UCLA with me. Take my word for it...it's not a big deal. You'll make new friends at UCLA, and the friends that are important to you you'll keep whether he/she goes to the same college or not. Anyways... you'll be too drunk to notice who's where. :cheers:

OK, leemaj and i are sitting in economics, with stupid tim right behind us. Leemaj looks up UCLA "Woohoo, you're in." Stupid timmah comes over, real jackass guy, says "nah, im not gonna look it up." He obviously thinks he'll be rejected. I look up mine: *bam* rejected. Previously unknown depression sets in. Later i find out that stupid timmah got in, even though hes a dumbass. Aggh.

well, I kinda know how it feels to not have your friends around. I transferred from a JC to my current university, not knowing anyone.. And every week, I look forward to driving back home to hang out with friends. Its a tad bit harder to meet people if you aren't living in dorms.

how funny...all you youngsters are getting rejection letters when all my old friends are getting into other schools (graduate, pharmacy, etc). like one of my friends just found out she passed her pharmacy board exams, and another got into 3 med schools. so for all u youngster's out there, there's hope for you yet!

i got into ucla, ucsb, uci, ucsd (wo0t), but strangely enough i got denied from DAVIS. i even framed the rejection letter and show it to friends who don't believe me.

yea, lots of people are getting rejected this year by UCLA..... UCLA recieved the highest number of applications this year followed by UCSD and then UC Berkeley...
