Since we are talking about pets, got Phil some food today, and she isn't sharing :)

Poor Lucy! She really wants it. She is sitting there still 30 min later wanting the mouse!

The mouse on the left seems to be watching what is happening, thinking "I'm glad its him and not me." If he only knew....

By the way, some people feed their ferrets mice. :P

Man, one of my science teachers had a ball python or some snake or another that ate mice, and whenever she fed her, she put the snake in
a bucket with the mouse. It was kind of interesting to watch the mouse get eaten, but we never watched for too long because for whatever reason, the thing STUNK. Wonder if it was the bucket, the snake, the mouse, or the mouse DYING.

Poor kitty :bawl: .

Isn't Phil kind of an odd name for a girl??

it was probably a combination of the snake, the bucket, and the mouse...

every snake i've been around... never really smelled "fresh and clean"

Prob the bucket unless the snake was not cared for. Phil or her cage doesn't stink.

Story behind Phil's name:

Donnie bought Phil -- was told it was a boy.
Friend had a ball python and had to move -- temp stored in Phil's cage, everything was cool.
Donnie had to move into the dorms on base -- no snake allowed.
Donnie took snake to mom's house for safe keeping till he could have him again.
Mom called Donnie, Phil is laying eggs. She had 5 eggs, and only 2 made it.
So, they found that Phil is a girl (obvious after the egg laying bit) and she kept the name.

So did you give Lucy a mouse or what??

Yeah, I guess it was the bucket or something, maybe it had one too many carcasses in it. The snake didn't stink all by itself, though.

I am just shuddering at the thought of a snake in my house. You are tougher than me Chrissy! ;)

Oh no! Not ready for presents at my feet just yet. She is an indoor cat and I don't need her mousing :)

I really didn't have a choice! Phil is Donnie's pet. She has to be about...gosh, he's been in 12 years now, got her when he was at March, so it must be...8 or so years ago. He got Griff first (the Iguana) and then Phil, so yeah, she has to be around 8 yrs old.

I have gotten used to her being around. She is cute, reminds me of the snake in the show "Little Bear" on Nick Jr. She has never been aggressive or anything. Donnie's sister wears her like a belt when she isn't around her neck. She sits around Donnie's neck when he is on the computer and rests her head on his ear/glasses and just sits.

Audie's GS troop came over a couple months back to earn their Eco badge. They were learning the food chain :) So they watched her eat. They gasped and ewwwed and couldn't keep their eyes off of her. Audie was very proud of her that night LOL
