wooooo hoooooo! i'm hyped. i just got the onkyo tx-ds595 receiver for $307.68 incl. shipping (manufacturer's refurb).
so when it shows up in a couple weeks, i should be able to hook up my JBL NSP1 surround speakers and my JBL 12-inch sub and finally have surround sound.
this receiver is similar to the onkyo 494 that was on the deals page last week, except it puts out slightly higher power. but it has the Dolby PL2 and a lot of the other nice features of the 494. the only thing that it doesn't have that i wish it did is either a component video out or digital/coax video out. however, s-video is the best that my current TV has, and i don't see getting a new TV in the near future. so it meets my current needs. it has good reviews on audioreview.com too. anyway, i can hardly wait to get it.
