Im thinking about getting either the 19 or 21 inch dell trinitron monitors.
Get the Dell P1130 21" Flat FD Trinitron based CRT for $559.20! To get it, search for: 320-7676
Get the Dell P991 19" Flat FD Trinitron based CRT for $279.20! This is a great deal for a flat 19" AG based monitor. To get it, search for: 320-8376
for the 19", it says great deal for an AG based monitor, whats an AG based monitor and how is it different from other trinitrons?
the 21" is a good price, but the 19" is pretty much the best price ive seen lately
now if i only had 2 grand to spend on a monitor... (http://www.sonystyle.com/vaio/displays/gdm_fw900.shtml)
AG = Aperture Grill
All Trinitrons are Aperature Grill based monitors, as opposed to Shadow Mask or other Flat Square based monitors. The newer higher end Trinitrons that have flat exterior glass panels and tighter grill pitch are in their FD series.
Before you buy a Trinitron monitor be aware that there will be faint "lines" across the screen to stabilize the picture. (I think 1 line on 19" and 2 lines on the 21", but not sure). Don't know if this applies to the new trinitrons as well, but I would assume it does.
I have a 21" Nokia 445pro with a trinitron tube and those lines bug me sometimes, especially when doing detailed graphic work, but most of the time I just don't see them and forget that they are there.
Some people are extremely annoyed by this while others say they never see them. Some people don't even notice them unless you point it out to them.
My recommendation is that you go to a store and make sure you can live with those lines before you buy. Quality is absolutely outstanding though and I am very happy with my monitor!!

The 19 inch has 2 as well. The are usually 1/3rd the way down, and 1/3rd the way up, and are usually only noticable against a white backgroup. Bugs some people, I rarely even notice mine.

Yeah, I had them on a 17" and they were there, I could notice 'em most of the time browsing and such but it wasn't a big deal to me.
I don't know if you have the time to go to store and check out any trinitron monitor at a store, but would be you best choice if you think you might have a problem with them.

The P991 is an excellent flat tube trinitron. This is the only monitor I've used for the past 3 years or so - when I swapped jobs I made them buy me one of these. I highly recommend it, especially for $279.
