Damn squirrels....
We used to have a problem at my parent's house - the only place we could park our cars (my brother & I) was outside under this 150' pine tree. The local gray squirrels would go up the tree and try to get at the green pine cones filled with pine nuts. These things were big and heavy (about 1-2lb at least) and a few squirrels apparently didn't like to open them up in the tree - they would throw them down to the ground and break them open! What happens to be under the tree? Our cars! After a couple of nasty dents on my brother's car roof, we brought out one of William Ruger's great inventions: the Ruger 10/22 semi-auto .22 rifle. Three shots and three squirrels later our pine cone problem was solved (the others apparently caught on).
Damn little varmits...
