So I was in Vegas this past weekend, and I played a bit of blackjack. Normally I usually break even or lose money, but I tried a different system this weekend, and I won every single time I sat down at a table.

I understand the theory of counting cards, but I don't have the mental patience to learn it (plus, all the free cocktails they give you can distract you). In a nutshell, the theory is that when the deck in the dealers hand is rich in 10s and Aces, it favors the player, when it is not it favors the dealer. So I ended up playing double-deck blackjack and put 5$ down on the first two hands, and counted the ratio of face cards. If the ratio was under 1/3, I'd double my bet for the rest of the deck, If it was under 1/4 I'd triple my bet. I ended up winning like $400-500 bucks this weekend.

So for those who know, is this a fluke, or should I quit my job and move to Vegas? :P

Seems as though your theory was correct for the night you went. Have family that work security for casino's and they say each night is different with how the cards play out. I'd stick with your day job for now.
