P.S. - is there an easy way to calculate transit time on UPS's site, or do i always have to do a yahoo search for that city and find a hotel and get the zip code so I can use it on UPS's transit time page? It seems dumb that you NEED the zip code, none of these places ever give me the zip code. P.S. - mine came from portland, oregon, zip code 97218.

Mine hasn't shipped yet. Does anyone know what week # we're in now? Actually, I was one of the last ones to order. I barely made it to qualify. When I clicked refresh right after I ordered the offer was gone but I did get an email stating that I did qualify. BTW, does the shipping address that you enter have to match the one that goes with your CC?

Call the 800 pickups number and have the operator track the package. ask her for the time in transit. She will beable to do it with the info incoded in the tracking number.

Now to sit back and wait for my email!!!!

Well, turns out my player really hasn't shipped... Here are the last couple emails I've been sending back and forth to Emusic. (they're in reverse chronologic order-- latest is first) Doesn't explain why I suddenly had tracking numbers:

Hi,
and I apologize that the last email is so confusing.

There will be a delay in the receiving of your player, although
the player has been shipped to the distributor from Creative.
There is a two step process in shipment and I can't inform you
exactly what date you'll be getting your player.

Anyone else have their Nomad II in some weird limbo? When I go to tracking information, it just says "Manifest received" with no actual package information.... my dad (who also ordered a Nomad II) has full tracking info and it's halfway to his house...

Should I be worried yet? (I have had such bad luck with UPS lately... misdirected packages, mega-late deliveries, now my Nomad II is sitting on a curb somewhere in Portland and never got picked up. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/wink.gif )

my package has the same tracking status as yours. I called UPS customer service and they tell me that the only thing they have is the manifesto which is the computer-tracking info and no PHYSICAL scan! They said that the package as most likely NOT PICKED UP! I was so damn pissed, so I emailed customer service at EMUSIC - who don't actually handle the delivery of the NOMAD - to inform them, hopefully the will contact the distributor.

DAMN!!! UPS tracking originally said scheduled for delivery YESTERDAY.. now it said rescheduled for today! YEAH RIGHT...

When it comes to the computer generated tracking numbers -- which are the most popular these days-- they can be in the UPS system with out being physically picked up. When they are done processing the packages for the day, the shipper runs an "end of day". This sends the billing and tracking numbers to UPS via modem or whatever.

When the driver picks the packages up from that site, he is to scan a barcode summary report. This is to be the first physical pacakage scan. Things happen and the report isn't scanned for various reasons. So the packages end up not getting scanned till they get to the hub and sorted. If the shipper has 'special arrangements' for certain shipments, they might not get scanned for 24 hrs depending on how they are being sorted at the hub.

There is so many variables on this between the shipper and the scan locations that it is hard to say at times what happened.

I will tell you this though... when tracking a package today, I noticed a lot of delays on shipments all over the states.

Also Web based tracking is one of the last things that is updated when it comes to info. Customer service is the best way to get up to date info.

Hey, what do you know-- my Nomad suddenly showed up in my local UPS office according to the tracking! This is too weird-- first I'm told by Emusic that it hasn't even gotten to the distributor (maybe) and it won't be out for a few days, then Fran randomly emails me saying that it'll be here tomorrow according to the tracking info, then about 3 hours later, it just shows up online! (with NO other status-- it goes from "Manifest" to arrived at the station)

Just got my tracking number / email from emusic today... checked the number on the UPS site and it's already been scanned in oklahoma city... should be here monday if they aren't off for July 4th. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/smile.gif

Package origin was also Oregon.

now I just have to decide which to get rid of... the Nomad, or my trusty Sharp MD702 Minidisc player... can't help remembering it was a lot cheaper swapping minidiscs on my 1400mi motorcycle ride to CO. last month than it would have been to swap flashcards. what do ya'll think?

My Nomad II arrived today a little after 3:00 PM. According to the tracking information that I had, it was scheduled for the 3rd of July. I also received the headphones from the earlier deal that was on Emusic. The Nomad II box has a sticker on it that says "Promotional use only, not for resale, do not accept returns". I wonder what kind of deal Emusic got from Creative Labs. In the next few weeks I'll be on the lookout for a good deal on 64MB Smartmedia. I already have two 32MB, two 8 MB and one 4MB. The smaller ones were for a digital camera, I don't think they would be of much use for the Nomad II.

Got my confirmation today, going to be shipped on the 5th. I ordered mine the morning Apex posted this deal, around 11am if I remember correctly.

When I ordered the headphones there was a huge delay too, but they eventually came. Guys, just try to be patient, remember, Emusic is sending this "bonus" stuff out UPS of NO EXTRA CHARGE! If they do that then they are a pretty good service to me.

At least we CAN track our orders!

I get the same email too. But it doesn't matter to me since I am away from US... Won't get it until late August anyway... But does anyone see the NOMAD2 MG yet? It is freaking cool! First, it just looks better. Second, built-in 64MB with expansion slot that allow up to 96MB (end up 180MB). This damn NOMAD2 has no built-in memory, and only have 1 slot allowing 64MB. I will try to ebayize it. What kind of reserve price should I put on this?

Jesus Christ! Reading some of these posts is really starting to depress me.

(1) A company runs a promotion where for $50 they give you $50 worth of merchandise (so what if you didn't want it), and a FREE $180 product. (This is, of course, a few months after this company gave free headphones and speakers to countless people).

(2) While the deal specifically stated a 4-6 week timeframe for shipment of the FREE product, some people started whining about how it had been 20 days and they had heard nothing. They went as far as ranting to the company's customer service.

(3) The company ran into unexpected delays in receiving the product from their supplier. They write a nice note apologizing for this, and offer $10 in merchandise as compensation (OK, no one actually wants said merchandise, but still...). I read that message and thought "Wow, what great customer service -- what a great company!".

(4) Then I read posts like this one. Ruined my day...

Milksheikh- amen!! Sheesh, people, at least they're in contact with you. They could be like so many places and either completely ignore their customers or just pretend it never happened. but they're fessing up, shipping out what they can, and giving you a $10 credit. What do you want them to do? Give you $200 to go to a store and buy a new one?

Yes, I got mine, and yes, I was a bit pissed at the way they handled mine (but it turns out it was UPS' fault). But it amazes me how some people on this board are crucifying a company that is handling an overwhelming amount of orders better than about 99% of the rest of the deals that get out of control are handled.

Bottom line: they ARE shipping Nomads. This isn't a scam. They are still within their 6 week time frame to get them to you in the first place. If you don't get em in a couple weeks, then start bitching to Fran. http://www.gotapex.com/ubb/wink.gif But until then, go find some new artists or something with your credit. You never know, you may find something halfway interesting...

I'm not mad at EMusic. I think they've handled this whole thing very well. I'm just anxious to get my Nomad and I thought their e-mail promising delivery in the first few weeks of July was a little bit funny. I'm also jealous of all you guys who've had yours shipped already.

i agree with the rest of you. emusic is pretty cool. they are well within the time frame they gave us. just sit back and relax and you'll get yours. mine came in last week before i even got the email confirming my tracking #.

i've never seen so many ingrates in here since anandtech... harsh words stating they will go out of business and attacks at csr's.... currently its been 5 weeks or so. still have one more week since it was promised 4-6 weeks. They even sent an apology email stating they will send it as fast as they can as well as gave us a 10 dollar gc yet people are still crying like their 13...oh wait, im sure they probably are 13.
